He came to San Diego in 1971 and in 1972 married Serafina Anfuso.
After many years working as a gardener he retired to spend most of the time in his yard planting citrus trees, fig trees, and roses. His true love was caring for his roses. He was a dedicated husband who loved family.
He leaves behind his wife and three siblings; Pete Burzotta, Kathy Sanfilippo (Mario), and Vita Candela (Nino); sister in laws Shirley Anfuso, Rose Anfuso, Stella Barranco; and brother in law Edward Anfuso. He also had many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
A funeral service for Ascenzio will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr., San Diego, CA 92102, followed by a graveside service directly after.
