Bobette Smith

It is with profound sadness that the family of Bobette Smith announces her passing on February 20, 2025. Born in Seattle, WA, and raised in San Diego, CA, Bobette lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

She is survived by her beloved children, Scott and Jessica; daughter-in-law, Marlyne; and son-in-law, Manny. She was a devoted grandmother to Andre, Kayla, Shiloh, Nathaniel, and Julius. Bobette also leaves behind her two sisters, Trish and Kathie; her nephew, Jack; and lifelong friends who shared in her journey through all of life's highs and lows.

In her younger years, Bobette embraced adventure as a fearless roller derby queen, skating as #17 on the San Diego Sharks and winning the hearts of fans. Her professional career was marked by dedication and expertise as a Government Account Analyst, where she made significant contributions.

After retiring, Bobette found joy in her love for wildlife as an avid member of the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. She spent countless hours photographing all of the animals, capturing their beauty and spirit through her lens. Beyond her love for nature, she was a passionate sports fan, cheering on the San Diego Padres, Chargers, and Gulls through every season.

Her passion for life, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for family, friends, and her hometown will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
