Our hearts grew heavy on March 9, 2026, with the passing of Bradley Charles Frost, whose charisma, optimism, and quick wit brought laughter and joy to everyone around him. Brad passed away peacefully in his sleep and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will echo in our hearts forever. A private ceremony will be held to honor and celebrate him in July.
Brad’s life was built on his strong work ethic and a deep unwavering love for his family. He was born on September 14, 1955, to Glenn and Joann Frost in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He graduated from Park Center High School in 1973, where he met the love of his life, Cathy. After high school, Brad proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Morse systems operator before earning his bachelor’s degree in business from Buena Vista College. Brad’s successful career included over four decades at Darling - recycling materials from the agricultural and food industries into valuable ingredients, as well as building relationships with every colleague and client.
To Brad, every truly good day began and ended with Cathy by his side. Their 45-year marriage and two children were his proudest achievements, safely outranking even the two holes-in-one he spent decades recounting with new charm. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, generosity, and fun-loving spirit. He always said the best money he ever spent was on the “green chariot,” his John Deere Gator that provided countless adventures with his grandkids around the acreage and to the river.
Brad spent much of his life in the Midwest, including nearly 33 years in the Siouxland area. In 2020, Brad and Cathy moved to California to be with family during the final stages of Cathy's illness. Brad spent the next five years in California, embracing the West Coast lifestyle and relishing every sunset, as well as visiting family and friends throughout the Midwest. He is survived by his loving family: his son, Brian Frost; his daughter, Andrea (Brian) Schmid; five grandchildren: Alex, Mollie, and Dylan Frost, and Anna and Isabelle Schmid; his sisters, Cheri Frost and Linda Smith; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Margaret and Paul Petroski, Janet and John Adkins, Pat and Bud Lynch, and Bonnie and Craig Gilland; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy (Letters) Frost; his parents, Glenn and Joann Frost; his in-laws, Jerry and Peg Letters, and sister-in-law Donna (Letters) Lundeen.
We invite you to raise a glass and share a favorite story of Brad from wherever you are. We hope you’ll carry his legacy forward by finding humor in the everyday and sharing a laugh with those you love.
