

Carol Blattner Amster died July 21, after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident at Belmont Village Sabre Springs Senior Living since 2013. Her family and friends will remember Carol for her sense of humor, kind words and enjoyment of everyone around her. She loved show tunes, dining out and spending time with her daughters.
Carol was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where she married her one and only love, Bob. His job took the family to New York, back to Cleveland, Orange County and Walnut Creek, California before finally retiring in Rancho Bernardo in 1976.
They raised two daughters, Barbara (Russell) Marcellus and Liz (David) Crowe.
Bob and Carol traveled extensively for work and pleasure, exploring Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and all the loveliest parts of the U.S.
Carol has been widowed since 1987. She has three grandchildren: Kelly Marcellus Lazovick (Doug), Adam Marcellus (Ashley) and Ian Crowe. Her third great grandchild will be born in August.
Her family is so grateful to the Belmont Village staff, who nurtured her mind and body for all these years. Donations in Carol’s name can be made to Belmont Village Holiday Fund*** in support of their hourly workers, or to a charity close to your heart.
