Carol Kicklighter passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021 following a seven month battle with brain cancer. Carol’s father, Joseph Curry, Jr., and her sister, Karen Curry (Conner) preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Curry, and the love of her life, Kurt Kicklighter, her husband of nearly 37 years.
Carol graduated from Pierce College with an A.A. and worked as a legal assistant for more than 25 years. In fact, she met Kurt in 1982 when they both worked at Irell & Manella in Century City.
Carol brought light and happiness to all who knew her and nearly everyone who simply ran into her. Her husband wrote the following about her.
I am Carol
Song of Joy
I am everything that sparkles
I am the light spirit
Of a summer’s day
You wish would last forever
I am the stroke of lavender
In your hand
You take a deep expectant breath
To inhale
I am the fizzy tickle
Of fine champagne
On your happy tongue
I am
Hair shimmers of gold
A big girly smile
And a wink
And then
I am gone.
A private celebration of life will be scheduled for Carol’s close friends and family to remember her at a later date. Please honor her by donating to one of the following: Make a Wish Foundation of San Diego, Childhelp, Inc., or San Diego Humane Society.
