Cecilia Feria Preclaro

Cecilia Feria Preclaro passed away peacefully at home in Mira Mesa, California on November 23, 2021 at the age of 86 surrounded by her family. She was well known to all who knew her as a sweet, kind, loving, caring and wonderful woman.

She was born in San Marcelino in the Zambales province of the Philippines on November 13, 1935 to Marcelo Feria and Cecilia Lara as the youngest of five children. On May 23, 1954 she married Alejandro Preclaro and they began their family in 1958. Alejandro's career in the United States Navy relocated the family from the Philippines to Japan, as well as numerous cities in the United States before they finally settled down in National City, California to raise their four children.

Cecilia began her career in nursing in 1968 and eventually became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She spent numerous years caring for sick and elderly patients at San Diego Physicians & Surgeons Hospital in San Diego, as well as at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, California before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and family, but what she found most rewarding was being with her grandchildren.

Cecilia Preclaro is preceded in death by her husband Alejandro Teologo Preclaro. Precious memories will be cherished by her daughter Elizabeth (Ricardo), son Ferdinand, son Alexander (Gloria), daughter Jennifer (Christopher), grandchildren Gregory, Nicholas and Maranda, and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Dr., San Diego, CA 92126. A graveside service followed at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.
