Charles was called by God to join his sons, his parents, and his brothers. He was grateful for his life of eighty-four years.
From the age of seventeen, Charles fulfilled his dream to be a builder, designing and constructing some 1800 homes and commercial buildings over his lifetime. He was always willing to give his professional advice at no cost to people wanting information on their building projects.
Charles was a member of numerous committees of Santa Fe's Cristo Rey Church, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus in San Diego. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Colorado, delivering food to the needy. He volunteered for many years with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Losing his own son to the disease, he helped with fundraisers in an effort to find a cure.
A few months before his death he received the 2014 Archbishop's St. Francis Award for his volunteer work. It was his most gratifying honor.
Charles leaves behind his beloved wife Lisa, his daughters Barbara, (husband Jay), Patricia (husband John), Theresa (husband David), and Maria (husband Gus), Brother John (wife Peggy), eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his special niece Crystal, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Memorial services will on Saturday March 14, 2015 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church: Rosary at 11:00 am, Mass at 12 noon, followed by a reception at the gym, 1120 Canyon Road, Santa Fe.
