Claire was born October 5, 1933 in Boston, the only child of Howard and Andrea Grover.
As a girl, Claire enjoyed the outdoors and learned to ride horses at an early age.
After completing high school, she pursued her study of art for two years. In 1956, Claire married the love of her life, Lester Bois.
In addition to her busy life as a Navy wife, homemaker and mother to two children, Claire taught swimming lessons and worked in the school office.
A resident of Point Loma since 1969, Claire was a community leader, organizing block parties and the neighborhood crime watch.
Claire was a passionate quilter and her beautiful creations often won blue ribbons. She will be especially missed by the other members of her sewing groups.
Claire is survived by her husband of 61 years, daughter Andrea (Theodore), son Daniel (Wendy), grandson Calvin (Jessica) and granddaughter Elizabeth.
The family would like to thank Sharp Hospital and Sharp Hospice for caring for Claire at the end of her life.
Claire chose to be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of her life.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Sharp Hospital or Sharp Hospice in Claire’s name.
