She was born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1928. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lucille Henderson. Surviving are two daughters, Elnora and Doretha and son Alonzo Jr., grandchildren Glenn and Holly and great-grandchildren Brittani, Anthony, Shelemo and Uriel.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy, Ruth, Mae and Sadie and brother Otis. Surviving sisters are Lula, Grace, Molly, Barbara and Amita; brothers are Elder Charlie and Ernest and a host of nieces and nephews.
