Cori Renea was born on May 12, 1975 in San Diego, California. When she was a young child, the family, moved to a small town in Colorado named Vilas, population was 84. Cori loved growing up in the small town and would often revisit the school when she would return to Colorado. The family than moved back to California when she was 12 years old; to this day, she has remained friends with those she had made while living in Baca County.
Cori adjusted to life in a small town and then in the large city as she easily made friends wherever she went. Strangers were friends that she hadn’t yet met. In the late 90’s Cori married Justin Larwa and they had two wonderful sons, Michael Alexander born January 22, 1997 and Justin Tyler born May 2, 2000.
Cori was always proud of her two sons and loved them dearly. She so enjoyed watching her son, Michael play ball and when Justin Tyler went through medical problem, Cori was a mama bear to see that he received all the care that he required.
Cori’s infectious laugh was spontaneous and heartwarming and her smile would light up the room. She enjoyed the sand of the desert as well as the sand of the beach. She often would be the one to suggest a big bonfire down at Fiesta Island. She had a good time wherever she would go.
Cori was an avid Cowboy fan and loved bantering back and forth with both brothers, Mike, the Broncos and Jason, the Chargers fan during football season.
Cori departed this world far too soon on December 22, 2013. She is survived by her two sons Michael and Justin; parents Don (Pat) Smith and Adah (David) Packard; brother Mike (Jamie) Smith; grandparents Richard and Ethlyn Smith; stepbrothers Jason (Sarah) Wallace, Phillip Wallace, David Packard and Terrance Packard; stepsister Michelle Wallace; nieces Ashlyn, Layla, Brooklyn, Keely, Trinity, Raelyn and Caselyn; nephews Dreydon and Jason; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, too many to mention.
