He graduated from Salina South High School and went on to attend Kansas State University and Manhattan Technical College where he received an Associates Degree in Building Trades. He then went on to attend and graduate from MMI in Phoenix, AZ. He stayed in Phoenix and worked for Arrowhead Harley Davidson. He has spent the past 14 years working for Sierra Pacific Windows in Phoenix and then San Diego.
Cortney found his happy place at the beach where he loved surfing, riding his skateboard, rock climbing, golfing and spending time with his beach family.
Cortney never met a stranger or a person he did not like. He was always up for an adventure and was loved by everyone who knew him.
Cortney is survived by his mother and stepfather Janet and Rick Fisher and his father Ted Weeks. Sister Amanda Schmitt (Brad), nieces and nephews Paityn and Dylan Brooks and Rhyan and Jace Schmitt, grandmother Evelyn Amend and many aunts, uncles and cousins, his stepfamily and ex-wife Vera Weeks along with hundreds if not thousands of friends who loved him and his joyous spirit.
A paddle-out and celebrating of life will be held in San Diego on Friday January 18, 2019 and another celebration will take place in Salina, Kansas at a date to be announced.
