Cortney Paige Worthy

Cortney is survived by her parents Lee and Janet Worthy of Fallbrook, California and her Aunt Charlene Worthy, of Murrieta, California, her Aunt Susie and Uncle Gary Franklin, of Ontario, California, Jerry and Janet Hickox of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and by cousins Brian Franklin, Amy Pflumer, Sara Franklin, Tim & Michele Worthy, Jeff & Lois Worthy. Cortney is proceeded in death by her grandparents Bill and June Franklin, Jo Warner and Fred Worthy and her Uncle Claude Worthy.

Cortney was born on December 20, 1981 in Mission Hills, California to Lee and Janet Worthy. Cortney graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2006 with a BSN in nursing. After graduating from college Cortney began her career at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla California. She spent 18 years at Scripps with 16 years in the Medical Surgical ICU unit. Cortney never married but enjoyed taking care of her two dogs Bode and Kali. She loved taking them to Del Mar beach where they could run and swim at the beach.

Cortney was a generous, witty and dedicated daughter, friend and nurse with a great sense of humor. Cortney had a good soul that shined through everything she did in life. Cortney loved movies especially Rom/Coms, she loved to ski, loved water sports, she loved music and travel. She was a risk taker skiing double black diamond runs looking for the biggest jump she could take, white water rafting and bungee jumping.

A celebration of life is being planned, and everyone will be notified of the date and location once the arrangements have been finalized. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cortney’s life.
