Craig was born on February 18, 1969, in El Centro, California, to Bill and Marilyn Cline. Craig enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in 1987 where he attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Soon after his enlistment, Craig married his high school sweetheart, Miros, on September 24th, 1988. In October 1988, Craig chose to change to active duty for the U.S. Army which brought him and Miros to Karlsruhe, Germany where they stayed for the duration of his active duty enlistment. Craig served as a Combat Engineer during Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia where he was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze service stars. In October 1991, Craig and Miros moved back to Seeley, California where he finished his time in the U.S. Army after seven years. Craig then became a Correctional Officer working at Centinela State Prison for 26 years and retired in 2019.
Craig was everyone's favorite grump and nerd. When he wasn't citing Greek literature, he was explaining discrepancies in movies, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings, pointing out every change between the books and their visual adaptations. Craig spent his time doing what he loved most: playing video games with his French Bulldog Artemis by his side, reading, woodworking, spending time with his family, and reminding everyone that he was a descendant of Abraham Lincoln. Although not the type for a night out he would never let his family down if they asked him for one, or for anything. His middle name, Wyman, means 'warrior' or 'defender' and that defines who he was. He never backed down from what he believed in, would protect what he held dear, and was incredibly stubborn. Nothing would have made him happier than his grandson’s arrival and the chance to care for more grandchildren. Craig was an exceptional father, a man that provided his sons someone to look up to and model themselves after and an example of what quiet, stern, yet genuine love should look like for his daughters.
Craig is survived by his wife, Miros; their children Kassie, Bethanee (Blake Russel), Joshua Noah, Braden (Nikki), and Camden (Clarissa); and the love of his life, his granddaughter Wrenlee, who he babysat until his final day on Earth.
