Cresencia Estrella Magat

Cresencia Estrella Magat, age 88, of San Diego, California passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Cresencia was born on May 16,1934 in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines to Francisco Estrella and Candelaria Ang. She graduated from the Philippine Normal College with a degree in Elementary Education. She was an elementary school teacher for thirty years in the Philippines before coming to America. Cresencia married Joaquin Magat of Mabatang, Bataan in 1956. Cresencia and Joaquin had seven children, with six surviving children, Evangeline, Ferdinand, Florentina, Edgardo, Victor, and Maria Esperanza. She is preceded in death by her sisters Adelaida and Aurora, and her oldest son, Jackson. She had eleven grandchildren, namely, Jacqueline, Crystal, Christopher, Ferdinand Jr., Jack Timothy, Alexis, Rainier, Ryan, Annamae, Andrew, and Calvin. Her six great-grandchildren are Victoria, John, Jr., Jacques, Jolina, Jack Leon, and Gideon George. Cresencia was a generous, self-sacrificing, and hard-working wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, neighbor, and friend. She is an exceptional person, with a deep devotion to her Roman Catholic faith.

A visitation for Cresencia will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. A lunch buffet after the graveside service follows, at 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm at Natsumi Sushi and Seafood Buffet, at 7040 Miramar Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.
