

Crisanta “Cris” Bariring, 90 of San Diego, California passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2024. Cris was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 10, 1934. She grew up in Hawaii and worked at a bakery after high school. She met the love of her life and they were married a few years later. They were happily married for 62 years before his passing in 2016. While her husband was in the Navy, they were transferred from Hawaii to Virginia where they had five children. As a Navy family they also moved to Washington D.C., back to Hawaii, and eventually settled in San Diego. Cris loved going to church, cooking, fishing, crocheting, sewing, traveling to Hawaii and Las Vegas, watching the Padres, and spending time with family. She was a very proud homemaker and loved taking care of her family.
Cris is survived by four of her children, Tessie and husband William, Jeannie, Donna and husband Matthew, and her only son Michael. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Christine and husband Nathan, Michele and husband Randy, Jonathan, and Michaela. Cris also has seven great-grandchildren, Keoni and wife Emmalee, Kainoa, Malia, Kalea, Keahi, Kaleo, and Kalani. She is also survived by extended family in Hawaii and Las Vegas. Cris was preceded in death by her dear husband Michael “Max”, her beloved daughter Beverly “Baby”, her parents, and siblings.
Crisanta’s viewing will be held at El Cajon Mortuary on July 10, 2024 from 4-8pm. A mass will be held in Crisanta’s honor at our family church, Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá on July 11, 2024 at 11:30am followed by a burial service at Miramar National Cemetery at 1:15pm where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
