Cynthia Johnson Brown, born June 18, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 10, 2018 in San Diego after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Cindy graduated with a B. S. in Special Education from Mansfield University, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Penn State University. She was particularly interested in helping Autistic children and adults. After working for 18 years at Association for Retarded Citizens of San Diego as Program Director, she relocated to London, England where she lived for several years. Upon returning to the States in 2004, she lived and worked in Studio City, CA as Accounts Manager for Bureau Veritas.
She shared her knowledge, kindness and passion for life with anyone lucky enough to have known her. Cindy was a proficient pianist, enjoyed the culinary arts, gardening, flowers, music, and dogs.
Cindy was married to Stephen Brown, now deceased. She is survived by a brother, Raymond Johnson (Marianne) of Alpine, CA; sisters, Jean Leonard and Joan Peebles of San Diego. She leaves behind nieces; Kelly Peebles, Lindsay (Chris) Phillips, Katherine (Michael) Sisk; great-nephews; Zachary Roto and Wyatt Phillips, and great-niece Kaylee Sisk.
