In the early afternoon of June 07, 2023, Danilo passed away peacefully with his wife, Juliet Quijano, at his side. He is survived by his wife, 3 children, their spouses and 7 grandchildren. They include his son Dante Quijano (wife Eileen), grandson Aidan; son Darius Quijano (wife Norma), granddaughters Mia, Emma and Julia and grandson Matthias; daughter Jade de Guzman (husband Lester), grandson Ace de Guzman and granddaughter Skye de Guzman
While attending the National University Philippines, he decided to enlist in the United States Navy. His initial duty station brought him to Yokosuka, Japan where his 2 sons were born. During this time he was assigned to the USS Oklahoma City which played a prominent role in the Vietnam war.
His next duty station brought him to Norfolk, VA where his daughter was born. He then was stationed in Corpus Christi TX and finally San Diego, CA where he decided to retire from the Navy and settle down with his family. After serving 21 years (1966-1987) in the United States Navy, he continued to work for the Department of Defense until he completely retired from the workforce in 2002.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with his wife watching concerts, going to casinos, taking road trips, gardening and taking care of his grandkids. Danilo’s interest were barbecuing, playing/watching basketball and karaoke. Boy did he LOVE karaoke. We are sure he’s up in heaven singing in front of the Lord and all of his family and friends who have previously passed.
Danilo was a humble and loving husband, father and grandfather who is loved and missed dearly by his family.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
