She was born April 4th, 1942 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Howard (Jack) and Mildred Olson. Deanna found herself a US Navy Officer,Thomas Boatright, while on a vacation in Hawaii and married him in Pearl Harbor on February 12th, 1972.
Deanna graduated from Grand Island public schools and then attended Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree. She worked at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women in San Diego, CA as a clerk in the maternity ward for many years until she retired. Deanna and Tom lived in Vallejo, CA and Hawaii together before settling down in San Diego where she lived until moving to Las Vegas to be near her grandkids in 2021.
Deanna loved shopping and socializing, and even more so when it involved church events or her grandkids. She was a wonderful mother and even better grandmother. Her faith was very important to her as she was a devout Christian. She and Tom attended church at First Baptist Church of Pacific Beach for many years where they were very involved and made several lifelong friends. She later attended church at Claremont Emmanuel Baptist Church where she also was very active. When she moved to Las Vegas she found a church in her community that she really enjoyed as well, Aliante Community Baptist Church. Deanna enjoyed going to the movies and playing games with her friends, and was always willing to try new things.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in law: Thomas Boatright Jr, Corinna Chrz of Meridian, Idaho, Jeffrey Boatright, Melissa Boatright of Las Vegas, NV, her brother and sister in law, Ricky and Connie Olson of Grand Island, Nebraska, and two grandchildren, Tyler and Karly Boatright.
A funeral service will be held at Pacific Beach La Jolla Chapel on Monday, August 31st at 10:30am with a reception to follow. A brief ceremony will also be held for her interment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery where she will join Tom on Tuesday, September 1st at 10:30am.
