
She graduated from the University of Michigan Nursing Arts Program. In 1954 she married Henry Jackson, Jr. in Pontiac, Mich., and they moved to San Diego soon after. San Diego became their home where they prospered with multiple business ventures. Real estate was their passion and they were extremely successful and had loyal clientele.
After her husband’s death in 1984, Delores returned to work in the nursing field and later was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals before retiring.
Her friends knew her as gracious, kind, and devoted, and she enjoyed travel, social gatherings, and Bible studies.
Delores is survived by her children, Myra, Sharlene (Kevin), Valerie, Angela, and Norman (David); and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda and son Henry. Two brothers, Clifton Bell of Detroit, Mich., and George Vidal of San Diego, survive her, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews
Arrangements were made by Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary, San Diego. Interment was Friday, March 11, 2016, at 9:31 a.m., at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
