Dolores Silva

Dolores Silva was born on February 28, 1929 and passed peacefully at home on May 10, 2013 at the age of 84. She was a beloved wife of 60 years to her late husband, Joe Silva and lived in Point Loma most of her life. A mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she lived her life with love and compassion for her family and all she cherished.

Dolores was a dedicated homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, growing orchids, and winemaking with her family and friends. Other interests included helping her Portuguese friends attain citizenship and nurturing loved ones to better health. She always had a very generous and fun-loving spirit.

Dolores is survived by her six children, Joe, Maria, Jeff, Jay, Jim and Jesse and their spouses along with her sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the matriarch of our family and now our guardian angel. We will miss her and love her forever.

Viewing to be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with rosary at 7:00 pm at Beardsley-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1818 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, San Diego, CA. Memorial service will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 18th at St Agnes Church, 1140 Evergreen St, San Diego, CA. Final resting place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA.
