Douglas Alexander Tolli, 24, passed away in 2026. He was born on November 9, 2001, in Falmouth, Massachusetts. His family lived for a short time in Damariscotta, Maine, before moving to San Diego, California, when Douglas was four years old. San Diego remained his home for the rest of his life.
Douglas grew up with an adventurous spirit and a love of being outdoors. As a child and teenager, he enjoyed riding his bicycle and skateboarding, pursuits that reflected his energetic nature and his willingness to get out and explore. He was also a Boy Scout, where he learned the values of service, responsibility, friendship, and helping others.
In 2022, Douglas answered a call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed primarily at Camp Pendleton, California, and rose to the rank of Corporal, serving with the 1st Distribution Support Battalion. His service was an important part of his life, and he took on the responsibilities of being a Marine with dedication and pride.
Above all, Douglas was a husband and father. He was devoted to his family and took on the joys and responsibilities of raising his young children. He leaves behind his wife, Denise, and their two children, Ivy, age 2, and Elijah, age 1. He is also survived by his mother, Ofelia; his father, John; and his younger brother, Nicolas.
Douglas's life was far too short, but within those 24 years he was many things to many people: a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a Marine, and a friend. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him and whose lives he touched.
His family will carry his memory forward in the years to come, remembering the boy who rode bicycles and skateboards, the young man who chose to serve his country, and the husband and father whose life was so important to those closest to him.
