

Drocilla “Dru” Sergia Ventenilla, 87, passed away on March 27, 2026. Born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 16, 1939, she was a beloved and cherished presence whose compassionate, devoted spirit touched the lives of those who knew her. She resided in San Diego, California.
After the initial introduction, Dru will be remembered as a generous, gentle, and faithful woman—kind-hearted and patient in all she did, and steady in the care she showed to family and friends.
Dru worked as a QC Inspector for over 25 years, a role that reflected her devoted nature and the quiet diligence with which she approached her responsibilities.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adriano Gonzales Ventenilla, with whom she shared three boys: Kenneth Reynaldo Ventenilla, Mario Rabago Ventenilla, and Ronald Rabago Ventenilla.
In her personal life, Dru was a true country girl at heart. This shone through her family country values, home-style cooking, the love of country music, and the gentle twang in her voice. She was a devoted fan of the San Diego Padres and enjoyed following NASCAR.
Dru held a deep and tender love for her pets. Over the years, she cherished Misty, Tiffer, Tiki, and Bloop-bloop, who will be by her side again in heaven. She leaves behind her beloved little boy, Cubby, whose loyal bark was with her until she peacefully rested.
Visitation & Funeral Service will be held at El Camino Memorial Chapel, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121, on April 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service begins at 6:30 PM.
