Eddy Mello, born January 6, 1932, in Tulare, California, to John Mello and Mary Dominguez, passed away on November 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Eddy lived his life with joy, humor, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.
In 1956, Eddy married the love of his life, Marie DeMaria, and together they shared 52 wonderful years. They built a beautiful family and raised three children who were the center of their world.
Eddy dedicated 45 years to a distinguished career as a chief engineer in the tuna fishing industry and later as a respected port engineer. His expertise, leadership, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who worked beside him.
In his later years, Eddy’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For 15 years, he also shared a loving companionship with Anna Vlcek, with whom he enjoyed countless cherished moments.
Eddy is survived by his children: John (Tammie), Larry (Debbie), and Maria DaSilva (Ralph). He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Desiree, Eddy, Nicole, Joe, Frank, Anthony, and Marie, and their families.
Eddy’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the stories he shared, and the family he cherished. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
