I was speaking with someone about my dad the other day and what they said will always stick with me.  Your dad was like a father and grandfather to us to.

This simple statement best describes the person that he was to his family, friends, colleagues, and everyone he met.  
 
The characteristics of:
•Loving
•Caring 
•Kind Hearted
•Generous
•Sharing
•Humorous
•Mentor

 He was my coach in various sports and taught me everything from throwing a baseball to checking the oil in my first car to just being a better man in general. He believed that you had to pursue things yourself and not wait for things to fall in your lap.

An example of this is: Practicing on the baseball diamond till the sun went down and the lights went off or spending all day on the lake waiting for a fish to finally bite. (Dad, can we go home? Not yet.)

I will miss you dad!

I want to thank Alice & Richie for executing Ed's final event.  They held there relative cool & were wonderful hosts so we all could feel the love we had for Eddie.
My brother was a strong American with a great sense of personal responsibility.
He served our country in 2 wars & logged 10 duty stations in a variety of 
critical disciplines.  He patriotically spent nearly 18-months in the jungles of SE Asia in an environment totally foreign to we here at home. 
Ed was married to Alice for nearly 51-yrs.  A little league baseball coach for most of a decade he selflessly formed a mature & competitive influence on many many young men.  His legacy will live on in them.
Ed was a master bass fishermen until he moved from Florida.  It was at that time that I knew him best during our fishing expeditions together w/our adventurous Mother.  
Together, as products of her endless
love, we mourned her passing in 2011.
Today, we who remain, acknowledge the loss of another great American but rejoice in our memories of Ed Conde.

With a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye- that is the way I will always remember Ed.  He taught me most of what I know about antiques and any sale was more fun if Ed was there.  I will miss his advice, his generosity, his  adventurous and fun-loving spirit.    Unassuming about himself, he was happiest talking about "Baby" and "Ritchie".  Alice and Richard, my heart aches for you both. He left too soon.

This is very sad news, what a great man Ed was.  My heart breaks for you Alice and Richard.  Thoughts and prayers are headed your way during this very difficult time.

I remember my Cousin Ed as an open and adventurous boy, intrigued by the world and fascinated by everything.  He retained his expansive intelligence and youthful curiosity for his whole life.  And, he was a great storyteller.
Kind-hearted, he loved his family dearly and embraced all of us, without judgment. He admired his adventurous father Elmer, and was devoted to his amazing and intrepid mother Audrey, his kind and loving sister Liz and to the energetic heart known as his brother Ernie.  And, he was so happy with all of the in-laws, nieces and nephews, assorted cousins and the wonderful friends who peopled his world.
His relationship with his wife Alice is the stuff of legend, based in an amazing young love that never grew old.  And he was devoted to his son Richard, his partner Lynn and his delightful granddaughter Colette.
He may have left us too soon but he was a happy man, who appreciated all of the gifts of his life.
I love you, Ed and will always keep you in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear about Ed's passing. The times we shared with both of you will forever live in our hearts and memory. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. Please know that should you need me, or my family, that we are there for you. May God grant you and Richard strength and peace.

Calm & clever those Bass had no chance.  Florida in 79' you were nimble w/the nibble until you popped out your knee.  Good thing your mother landed that beast of a Bass or we would still be there.
Fast forward to the AZ DAYS.  Great visits w/Mom & Ken at Leisure World birthdays.
But now you have past....gone to soon.....
A proud military man w/a crew-cut.  Alice your lifetime partner.  Your able & trusted son Richard. You were my first HERO.
