Edward Armstrong “Army” Marshall, 95, of La Jolla, CA was born June 18, 1922 and passed away November 13, 2017 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Joanne Marshall, daughters Kathleen Marshall, Marie Teri Marshall and Nancy Marshall-Smith, son in law Scott Smith and grandchildren Oriana Yarid, Alex Yarid, Krista Smith, Sean Smith and Arabella Jorion, and devoted caregivers Gheri and Yola. He served in the Army during WWII as an amphibious tank driver in the Philipines. Army was a retired teacher for San Diego Unified School District, most of the 30 years he taught at Mission Bay High School. He was a life-long learner, world traveler, political activist, history buff, surfer, avid swimmer, great storyteller and loved spending time and/or conversing with family, especially his grandchildren, and friends.
