January 17, 1927 – April 5, 2018
Eileen Joan Evans age 91 of San Diego passed away surrounded by her loved ones and family on April 5th. Born January 17th, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Russel and Marie Kennelly. She married Alton Ray Evans on July 14, 1951 and was preceded in death by him in October of 1978. Together Eileen and Ray raised 5 children in multiple Navy towns ultimately settling in San Diego in 1964.
Survived by her loving children; Karen (Greg) Carter, Pat (Rich) Redditt, Ray (Sally) Evans, Kathy (Blane) Robinson and Rob (Bari) Evans; sister Mary Ann Heller. Eileen was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Jeff & Matt Carter, Amy Tomlinson & Michael Redditt, Ryan, Jacqueline and Sophia Evans, Chris & Sarah Mottino, Conor & Audree Evans. Great grandchildren; Alex & Katie Tomlinson, Kaitlin Mottino.
Eileen is also survived by Glenn Flenniken who she met at a dance (one of her passions) and married in 1994. They lived a happy and wonderful life together and would have celebrated their 24th Wedding Anniversary on April 16th.
Eileen was a thoughtful, caring, loving and selfless Mom, Grandmother, Wife and Friend. She had a sweet and wonderful soul and was always singing, dancing and ready to go. She loved to travel, tend to her roses and be with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at St. Brigid’s Church in Pacific beach on Monday, April 16th: 10:00 Viewing; 10:30 Rosary; 11:00 Mass; 12:00 Reception | Burial at El Camino Memorial at 1:30
