With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of our dear family friend, Emily Hernandez, who entered eternal rest on September 29, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by those who loved her.
Born on July 30, 1938, in Alhambra, California, Emily spent her early years surrounded by family and community before settling in Escondido in the late 1980s, where she built a warm and welcoming home.
She dedicated many years to Hewlett-Packard from 1960-1998, as a line woman, where her skill, steady hand, and work ethic earned the admiration of her colleagues. Outside of work, Emily embraced life with joy—she loved bowling, sharing laughter with her league friends, and cheering passionately for her beloved Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and Raiders. A favorite gathering spot was the Fireside Restaurant in Escondido, where she enjoyed countless meals and memories with loved ones.
Emily will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and the happiness she brought to all who knew her. She was a cherished friend, a beloved part of our extended family, and a source of comfort and strength.
May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
