

She is survived by her children— Ana, Jojo (Weng), Ricky (Me-Ann), Grace (Arnel), Adora (Thuc), Goretti, Tomas (Carol) and Desiree (Tony), her older sister, Virginia Ragrag, her grandchildren: Maureen, Michael Angelo, Justin, Joshua, Cherish, Joanne, Alaina, Jeanne, Maverick, Lianne, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Rykann, Katelyn, Sheena, Mark Anthony Jr, Jesusa Antonette, Arabella, Bernard, Hailey, Marbe, Kimberly, Ophelia and Kaya. Her great grandchildren Summer, Autumn, Kaiden, and Saiasi.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Isaias Tamayo Sr., her younger sister, Teresita Bundang, younger brother, Felomino Magsanop, and most recently, her son, Mark Anthony Tamayo.
Born on April 16, 1942, in Botolan, Zambales, Philippines, Engracia was the daughter of Gregorio Magsanop and Visitacion Devera. She graduated from Santa Isabel College in Manila with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, majoring in English.
She began her career teaching at Mt. Carmel High School, where she met her future husband, Isaias “Tany” Tamayo. They married on October 26, 1963, and over the following years raised nine children. A dedicated mother and educator, Engracia instilled resilience, the value of education, and a strong work ethic in her family.
Engracia taught in Zambales for over 25 years before immigrating to the United States in 1990. She continued her lifelong commitment to caring for others through her work at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. She had a passion for cooking, knitting, and crocheting, and was a devoted Catholic who cherished attending Sunday Mass.
She will be deeply missed, remembered for her unwavering love, steadfast spirit, and the gentle guidance she shared with all who knew her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, medical teams, and everyone who supported her throughout the years.
