Maman Eshi was born in Nahavand, Iran on October 17, 1924, but spent most of her life in Teheran, Iran. She was the first-born of six children (siblings - Mr. Ebad, Ms. Efat, Mr. Ardeshir, Mr. Hushang, and Ms. Afaugh), and the last of her generation to leave our Planet Earth. As the eldest daughter at home, she helped her parents and had many responsibilities, even with taking care of her younger siblings. Later in life, she married her husband Mr. Ali Asgari, with whom she had five biological children (Ms. Zohreh, Ms. Elaheh, and Ms. Shohreh, and two infant boys Farzad and Farshad who passed within their first few months of life), and eleven step-children (Mr. Hassan, Dr. Hossein, Ms. Ashraf, Ms. Efat, Dr. Manoucher, Dr. Habib, Dr. Amir Hushang, Mr. Nasser, Ms. Fereshteh, Mr. Jamshid, and Dr. Anoosh Asgari). Ms. Eshrat only lived with husband Mr. Ali for 11 years before he passed away. She became a widow at a young age, and never re-married, left to raise her three young daughters by herself. She remained a home-maker her entire life, but was an advocate for education. She encouraged her eldest daughter, Ms. Zohreh, to head to the USA for college before the Iranian Revolution in 1978, and was able to pave the way, with Maman Eshi's support, for the rest of the family to be able to immigrate to the United States as well.
After an excruciating long immigration process, Maman Eshi was able to immigrate to the United States of America in 1996 to live with her eldest daughter Ms. Zohreh, son-in-law Mr. Eduardo, and granddaughters Dr. Shirin and Ms. Nooshin. After she immigrated to the USA, she returned to her homeland in Iran several times. Her last visit to Iran was in 2012, when she said goodbye to her younger sisters Ms. Afaugh Asgari and Ms. Efat Asgari, who are now also both deceased, and who were also both widowed at the time of their death. Maman Eshi is now re-united with all her sisters and brothers.
Maman Eshi's other two daughters were able to finally immigrate to the USA in 2013-2014, and Maman Eshi was able to live with her other daughters (Ms. Elaheh and Ms. Shohreh) as well as all of her grandchildren during the last decade of her life.
Ms. Eshrat Asgari was also known as the Famous Maman Eshi, for she is loved all around the world. She will continue to be loved forever, and her legacy of laughter, humility, humbleness, openness, progressiveness, and LOVE will continue. She loved nature, flowers, birds, food, farmland, animals, and children. She loved to joke, sing, and dance. She rarely took life seriously, and was a light-hearted human being, but her spirit was fierce and strong. She was the Matriarch, and the Matriarchy lives on. Her legacy will live on forever, and she will be forever missed. She is now joined with all our other beloved family members who have all passed away too soon (including her best friend Ms. Parvin Bahremand).
May Maman Eshi's soul Rest In Peace, along with all the other Asgari family Angels.
She is survived by her three daughters Ms. Zohreh Asgari-Alonzo, Ms. Shohreh Asgari, and Ms. Elaheh Asgari; and is survived by her two step-sons Dr. Anoosh Asgari and Dr. Manoocher Asgari; and is also survived by her seven grandchildren (all whom are college educated and beyond) - Dr. Shirin Alonzo-Asgari (physician), Mr. Babak Tousifar (Engineer), Mr. Behnam Tousifar (Engineer), Ms. Nooshin Alonzo-Asgari (Teacher), Mr. Ali Davarifard (Business Manager) , Mr. Amir Davarifard (Aspiring Biologist), and Miss Azin Davarifard (Aspiring Teacher).
