Gene was a very kind man.  I enjoyed travelling with him to Hawaii.   Rest in peace 

I worked with Eugene at Capital Nursery in Sacramento. We became best friends. We traveled around the country and shared vacations, including two trips to New York, Washington D.C., and New Jersey. Eugene eventually met the love of his life, Dale Landsberg. Dale died tragically while on a trip back home to Vermont to attend the funeral of her favorite uncle. Eugene never got over her death, understandably. I always considered Eugene to be one of the kindest persons that I had met. He always talked about the need to have a God-like objectivity. I always tried to live up to his standards. He encourage attending college, and played a big roll in my realization of attaining my Bachelors Degree. The loss of Eugene is a great loss.
