

Fabrice was born in Brittany, France on 11/01/1969. He grew up in Rennes, Brittany, and graduated with a PhD of chemistry from the university of Rennes I. He then did a post-doctorate in Aachen, Germany followed by another in Lyon, France before immigrating with his wife to San Diego in 2001.
He worked as a scientist for several biotech start-up companies before finding his work family at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. His proudest professional accomplishment was to provide comfort to cystic fibrosis patients and their families through is work at Vertex. In October, 2023, Fabrice was among the recipients of the American Chemical Society’s Heroes of Chemistry Award recognizing the Vertex Pharmaceutical team for the discovery and development of Trikafta, a transformative therapy for cystic fibrosis.
Fabrice shared 35 wonderful years with his beloved wife. Their marriage was built on friendship, laughter and enduring love. Fabrice was most proud of his two children, Mael and Amelie. Watching them grow into confident and compassionate young adults was his greatest joy and accomplishment.
Fabrice is survived by his wife, Stephanie, his two children, Mael and Amelie, his father, Jean-Luc and his brother, Michael. He was preceded in death by his mother Martine.
Fabrice will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, his kindness and love for science, music, history and astronomy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 20 at 2 PM at El Camino Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Friends of Rose Canyon or Drugs and Diagnostics for Tropical Diseases.
