Florence Marie Balistreri

Florence always loved to sing and play her accordion. She had a beautiful voice. She sang in church, weddings, performances, and in her younger years: on Television.

In 1954, her parents moved Florence and her sister, Marie, to San Diego where she spent the remainder of her life.

She worked as a secretary in the insurance industry for many years and later retired to care for her aging mother.

Florence never had children of her own, so she embraced her love on her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In her later years, she moved to Encinitas with her sister and they enjoyed many shopping trips and their little dogs, Mickey and Cupcake.

Florence is survived by her sister, Marie Emilo, her niece and nephew, Lee Ann Howe and Jerry Emilo, their loving spouses, Kerek and Kim, six great nieces and nephews, and one little great great niece.

A funeral service for Florence will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 4470 Hilltop Dr., San Diego, CA 92102. Entombment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
