

One of 6 children, she attended St. Stanislaus grade school and Meriden High School. She went on to graduate from Pequod Business College and was soon employed at the Miller Illumination Company as a secretary in the advertising department. An independent career women in the 40’s, Fran was ahead of her time. She was actively involved in the war effort serving on the War Bonds committee as well as writing a pen-pal column for the Miller Company newspaper, corresponding with company employees who were fighting oversees. Fran flew to San Francisco in the summer of 1946 to marry her handsome career Navy husband Joseph Forcier who was stationed on the West Coast. As a dedicated Navy wife, Fran traveled around the country finally settling in San Diego in the early 1950’s where she raised her two children. Fran was a founding member of the St. Therese Church in Allied Gardens/Del Cerro. She was an active and involved member in the 55+ Club. She was also a founding member of the Allied Gardens community where she lived from 1956 until 2009. She had a successful twenty-year secretarial career at the San Diego Unified School district. Her hobbies included raising orchids, sewing, knitting, and gardening. Traveling all over the world with her husband was a highlight her retirement. Her lively spirit and outgoing personality easily won her many friends at home and abroad.
Fran is survived by her daughter Bobbi Forcier, grandson Nick, granddaughter Michele, great grandson Quinn, sister Jeanette Harris, daughter-in-law Diana and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of friends. She is predeceased in death by her loving husband Joe, son James, brothers Stanley, Lawrence, Edward and sister Helen.
Viewing on Monday, November 8, at Goodbody Mortuary on El Cajon Boulevard from 3-6 pm. Funeral services and mass on Tuesday, November 9, 11 am at St. Therese Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
