Francisco Sales Sequerra was born on May 11, 1934 in Makati, Rizal, Philippines. As a young adult, he decided to join the U.S.Navy as a chance to see the world, make new friends and establish citizenship in the United States. After 20 years of service, he retired from the US Navy.
As a second career, he was a painter for the Department of Public Works. Throughout his life, Francisco was a dedicated family man. He was married to his wife Rosario for 55 years. They raised their three daughters, Marison, Gina and Janet, in San Diego. He also gained a son, Richard, by marriage. He spent much of his free time with his wife, daughters, son-in-law and three grandchildren. Francisco was a proud grandfather, and had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters, Lexie, Ava, and Lainey. He really enjoyed watching the girls play softball and basketball. He was one of their biggest fans.
Francisco was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. Throughout his life, Francisco had a passion for woodworking, gardening and the happiness it brought to others. He took pride in the many things he built, the beautiful roses he displayed and the delicious fruits and vegetables he shared with his family and neighbors.
Francisco was a man who showed throughout his lifetime what he valued most in life - family. His lessons of love, and family togetherness will continue to live on as part of his legacy.
