Upon returning from a long holiday in Asia I read John Fry's quarterly news letter.  I was shocked and saddened to see that my old friend from high school, Fred Lewis, had died.  I knew that Fred had been quite ill. We had spoken to each other twice by phone during the past several years.  

Fred had called me after our last reunion because it was the first high school reunion he had ever missed. Fred had taken a trip to Russia at that time and wanted to to hear about the reunion I had attended.

I will miss Fred's friendly, open and good natured personality.  He had a keen intellect and a photographic memory that was amazing.  Fred, I will miss you and my other friends who have passed away too soon.  You were a unique man with a good heart.

It is with deepest regrets that I extend to you the sadness of the Crawford High Family of Alumni on the passing of Frederick.  One less Colt leaves us all lacking and empty.
