A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
The Ballesteros and del Mundo families are heartbroken to announce the passing of Fredidia “Didi” del Mundo Ballesteros. The two-time former Mrs. Valentine's was freed from suffering and returned to her eternal home on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019 in the company of her loving family. There will be two separate celebrations to commemorate Didi's life. The first, in San Diego, CA, will include a visitation from 11:30AM to 3:30PM PST, immediately followed by a memorial service on February 24, 2019 at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., San Diego, CA 92121. A social gathering will begin at 5:30PM at the Bagtas family residence, located at 11409 Wild Meadow Place, San Diego, CA 92131. * Traditional "funeral" attire is not required. We encourage you to wear natural tones of beige, brown, and the like, as we channel her joyous energy and honor her soul. Didi will then be returned to the Philippines for internment on March 24, 2019, where she will rejoin her beloved parents at Loyola Memorial Chapels in Guadalupe, Makati City. Didi was blessed to be married to her wonderful husband of 47 years, Fernando "Mr. Valentine's", who honored his vows in sickness and in health. From their marriage, were born two exceptional children, Mark and Marissa. In the final months of her life, Didi cherished short walks with her family and enjoyed the rich ocean breeze and tropical flora in La Jolla. **Please view our video "In Loving Memory of Our Dearest Didi" Didi displayed tremendous strength and courage throughout her twenty-year battle with lung cancer, and she will forever be remembered as the life of every party. To commemorate her everlasting joy, we encourage you to send tropical flowers either to the funeral home or to the Bagtas residence (at the aforementioned addresses). Additionally, we owe a debt of gratitude to the James Cancer Hospital, of The Ohio State University, for providing Didi the care needed to fight the miraculous fight she, in many ways, won. We encourage you to make a donation in memory of Fredidia Ballesteros, at https://www.giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/?fund=310921. ("Acknowledgement Letter" addressed to: Marissa Ballesteros, 6595 Caminito Catalan, La Jolla, CA 92037) We thank you for your thoughts and prayers in this time of healing and celebration.
