Cousin Gar showed my mom (EmmaMay) and myself a wonderful time in the late 1970s.  I remember a limo driving up to our hotel and mom's mouth dropping when she realized it was for us!  Gar went out of his way to show us a good time and we so enjoyed being together with his family and Uncle Pete and Aunt Ev.   Our sympathies and love, Mary Jo  May and Jerry Schimelpfenig

I always cherish Garland May's sweet memories as long as I live. I sincerely owe my life in America for his personal guidance. He was my teacher; he was my mentor, my hero in sports (track)and he was my guardian. Garland May was a person who thought me the true American culture. He guided me, showed me the path of the American culture daily and he supported me when I came to America when I was only 13 years old. He thought me English words (Signal lights) nightly when I had no English skills. We talked about movies especially movie called " Patton". I remember vividly, my first job in America was to clean and decorate his optometric office in 4th street San Rafael. After the job he gave my one big piece of.50 cent Kenndey coin and I was happy ked in the block. One day I was playing in front yard of the rented house in San Rafael, and I was attacked by bees, and I was in burning pain, in few minutes Garland May was there to take me and care for me. I'll miss you dude, Thank you for all your support, love and teaching. I will never forget you and I will respect and honor you as long as I live in this planet. My dad sent me this picture while I was away at boarding school to show me the boat he just bought. One of the best photos I have of him. Sure gonna miss you Dad.

Dad, thank you for sending me to High school in England. Thank you for raising me up in Pacific Beach as a young man where I learned to be a Surfer. Than you for your wisdom when it came to success and spirituality.   I am very grateful I got to see you recently. I enjoyed our walks around the block and sitting with you at the table having dinner. It was nice to reminisce the past together.  You have given me the tools I needed to be the man I am today and again I thank you. I will always and forever love and honour your spirit.   Namaste
