Hello, I am Yvette - youngest sister of Rosario/Baby and to me, my Ate Liit.

I never called Geoff “Kuya”, but I knew he felt all the love and respect I had for him as a brother.

I was in Elementary when he started dating my Ate Liit, and I was their chaperone/3rd wheel until they got married. Back then all I cared about was where we were going to eat.... I didn’t realize I was actually gaining another brother.  

We kept in touch even after he moved to the USA and exchanged snail mail post office letters.  He sent cards for my birthday and Easter.  To this day, I still have one of his Easter cards that came with $5. It was the first card I got from him with money, so I saved it. Actually, it turned out it was the only one card I ever got with money from him.

Fast forward,  when I came to US and had kids, he was there for us. He was even my home project consultant and saved me money by fixing things around the house. 

I have so many more stories to tell, but really the best way to describe him is, “He was the brother you all wish you had.”

Forever grateful that Tito Geoff loved my Tita Baby so much, because by association, our whole family got to feel his love too.

He and my mom bantered like they were best friends. He celebrated our birthdays and attended piano recitals. He'd come back from his yearly golfing trips to the Philippines with stories not about golf, but about my aunt's dogs and my cousin's kids. And I'll always remember how he supported my move to NY... I wanted to tell Tito Geoff and Tita Baby first, because I was most nervous about how Tito Geoff would react. I was moving for a job with his rival news channel, but he was happy for me and in true form, he even made a few jokes about it. I can still hear him saying some of these jokes.

Tito Geoff, thank you for being in all of our lives and giving us so many happy memories. We love and miss you so much.


Godfather

Some of the words I can use to describe Tito Geoff are honorable, gentle, kind, and big-hearted.

It has been an honor to live along side you.  He was truly a man of God.  He exemplified hard work, generosity, perseverance, and faith.

My earliest recollection of Tito Geoff was when he visited us in Project 8 when I was around 8 years old. I remember the excitement surrounding this occasion. He came and parked his nice vehicle in the garage and was neatly dressed in his United States Naval uniform. I’m able to recall and describe this event as a visit from an important dignitary.  It was a special event for all of us. 

When we finally came to the United States at the age of 13, you were there to welcome us and include us in the recreational activities I could only dream of when I was a child.  You included us in camping trips, outdoor activities, and sports.  These memories are special that I will hold forever.

The beautiful life we enjoy today is directly linked to the foundation you have laid for us. Your sacrifice, hard work, and kindness have greatly improved the lives you have touched.  I will miss you forever and will always have you in my heart.

Although you are no longer with us here on earth, you will always be in our hearts forever.   We will cherish all the memories that we had with you.  They will always fill our hearts with joy and smiles to our faces. I wish that we could have visited you more often.  Even if we couldn’t, please know that you were always in our thoughts and prayers.  Thank you for being a great uncle.  Thank you for all the great advices you’ve given me growing up.   We will miss you.

I’m so touched that before he had comatose,he called me up and we talked for awhile then I can sense that he’s so weak then I said rest ka muna and he’s last word is I love you cuz. Till his last days he wouldn’t give up looking forward our re union.

He who has gone,  came into our lives and leaves footprints on  our hearts,  cherish his memory and that memory becomes a treasure…. That is you Jeff!  
Jeff and I were classmates from first to fourth year in high school and graduated in 1970 (Class 70) at  the Alcala High school. We had a group that we called D’MTEENS with the following female  members; Josie D., Maricar S. Vicky P., Susan C., Aida S. and myself.  Male members; Jeff S., Florence C., Wilson B., ;Juan S., Suzalito and Sisenando C. We were all like brothers and sisters helping  and doing  school works together, having fun and most of all protecting one another. I believe high school life was memorable and also the preparation  phase for the next level in life.
Personally, thank you Jeff for the good memories you shared with us especially when we had a mini reunion in my house in 2002 with your gift  for  all of us a basketful of your backyard produce ..avocado!  It was a day of reminiscing about our high school memories,  our carefree and fun youthful lives. I would say it was a day of laughter, talking about our “crushes”, good and bad times that made it  very memorable to all of us. that night you spent some time with my husband, Oscar and I  telling stories about your Navy life and your very rare illness and your  experimental medical treatment. 
Jeff, sadly although you are no longer here with us, your memories  are very precious and  I treasure them endlessly!

Not a day went by when Rosario did not think of her husband returning home. Excitement would be seen in her eyes when time came for Jeff to return home. Rosario would spend countless hours cooking all of Jeffs favorites for the feast that would occur at the return festivities.  I too was included in these family celebrations and saw how Jeff would have a sincere smile and appreciation for his friends, home,  family and not to mention the mother of his children.  The smile and happiness that he expressed to all that attended his welcome home festivities was without a doubt genuinely felt by all. The joy showed in his hugs i will not forget. How he welcomed me into his family from the first time i met him.

I know you will be missed by many many.

Tito Geoff was — and will always be — our goofy, talented, loving uncle. 

We loved going to Tito Geoff and Tita Baby’s house for holidays and random weekends. Of course, he was usually still out playing golf when we arrived, but once he got home, he was always making us laugh. He’d sit on the sofa watching sports while all the cousins and aunties hung out in the kitchen, and he’d chime in on our conversations with funny one-liners. After all the football, basketball, and golf games were over, he’d bring out his guitar to play carols or John Denver songs (or his own version of these songs with the silliest lyrics he could think of on-the-spot). Sometimes we’d go to the park with him to walk Beau and all the other dogs would be happy to see him — they probably all thought he was their fun uncle too.

Our memories with Tito Geoff will always be in our minds, but we also have constant reminders of him around our house. He was so handy and was always excited to take on a new project. He built our custom desks, fixed our refrigerator, and somehow even made our Santa Claus doll light up again. We already knew that he could probably fix or build anything, but he honestly never ceased to impress us.

We miss you and wish you were still with us. Thank you for being around for us growing up.
