Geraldine Miller Franklin

She was born on September 29, 1926 in Collegeville Penna to father Dr Joseph Stanley Miller, and mother Margaret Marr Miller.

Her primary education was in Collegeville Penna. She received a BA in fine Arts from Cornell in New York. Later she also received her Masters degree in Education also from Cornell.

She moved to Berkeley California and taught first and second grade. Later moved to San Diego.

While there she took flying lessons and soloed many times. Also took dancing lessons and went to modeling school and modeled for a short time in and around San Diego.

She enjoyed traveling to Europe, and taught in Weisbaden, and Frankfort Germany for 2 years.

Returning to San Diego she started teaching at Decatur Elementary, there she met the love of her life Sydney Franklin and eventually they married.

They had many, many happy years together. They loved to go dancing and took more than 90 cruises. Her favorite was to Alaska.

She loved her pool, swimming most every day until just a few years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sydney Franklin, and sisters Margaret Lorraine Evans, and Jacqueline A. Hodel.

She is survived by nieces Sandie Arcade and Barbara Nietupski, and two nephews, Barry E. Mill (JoAnn), and Kevin White (Marcella) and Brother – in-law William Franklin an sister-in-law Marjory Luxenberg (Ellis) and many other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at1PM on Friday, September 16, 2022 at El Camino Memorial Park and Mortuary 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, California.
