

The third of 7 children was born September 1, 1915 in Spokane, Washington. At the age of 2 years her family moved to Canada where her father found railroad work for the next 7 years. The family relocated to Sprague, WA when the work was no longer available.
At age 12, her father died leaving the family stranded in Canada, her mother pregnant with the 7th child. Through the help of a relative they settled in Sprague, Washington. Glenys took care of her two younger twin brothers, age 6, for several years.
After graduation from Sprague High School, Glenys attended a business college in Spokane earning an associate degree in business. She applied for and obtained employment at the Federal Land Bank in Spokane where she worked for several years.
She met and married Keith A. Sears in 1940 and they were sealed together in the Cardston, Alberta, Canada temple. Shortly thereafter, Keith, a Marine Corps reservist, was activated and sent to San Diego California., and Glenys joined him.
Keith's enlistment ended just prior to the outbreak of World War II. He and Glenys obtained employment at Convair where they worked for the duration of the war. Glenys was promoted to an Executive Secretary position for a company Vice President and Keith worked in security back-grounding employees.
Glenys remained with Convair until the birth of their firstborn son Kevyn, in 1947. Several years later, and after the birth of their 2nd son Keith R, she rejoined the workforce at San Diego State University Health Services. She was subsequently transferred to the office of the Vice President of the University where she was his Executive Secretary until her retirement 20 years later.
Active in the LDS church, she held a wide variety of teaching and music positions in the Relief Society for many years.
A lover of good books and music, she was very active in a book club for over 40 years.
She is survived by her sons Kevyn and Keith R. Sears, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
