

Hammond, Gloria Genevieve May 16, 1927 - November 4, 2017 Gloria, 90, a Southern California native, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Hammond, of 72 happy years, her daughter, Lorraine Boyle, son, Mark Hammond, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She graced this world with her love of God, her family, friends, teaching, music, dancing, ice skating, writing, and oil painting. Gloria graduated from San Diego State University with honors and received her Master's degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities, from Chapman University. She was an accomplished classical pianist, wrote six novels, and as an artist, painted hundred of paintings. She will be remembered for being a wonderful mom to her children and grandchildren and a loving wife. She will always be in our hearts! A private celebration of her life will be at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, donations to Jewish Family Services, Balboa Ave Older Adult Center, attention Aviva Saad, Program Director, 8804 Balboa Avenue, San Diego CA 92123, will be appreciated as she so enjoyed her times there.
