My heart goes out to all the family of Herbert Scott, my dear cousins and Wimpy! I pray the God of all comfort will give you peace and comfort at this time of such a great loss to all of us. Scotty was such a great man, he always gave me hugs and kisses when I seen him, he always asked about my son and my grandkids, he was so caring and such a loving man. He leaves such a legacy of being a great uncle, father and husband and a great friend! I was so blessed seeing him a few days before he went to heaven!! Scotty, you will be missed so much! Until we meet again!!! Love you lots!!!

Today I pray for comfort and strength for my uncle Scotty’s family. He truly was a great man and loved his family to the moon and back. When you had a conversation with him I always felt like he was listening to his fullest potential. He truly cared about you and what was going on in your life. Three days before he went to be with Jesus we had a pray circle. We all prayed for him, but what touched my heart was he was able to pray and his prayers were for us. Such a selfless man! I love you Uncle Scotty I will see you on the streets paved with gold when I go home... love Sister

Biography

Herbert Patrick Scott returned to share in the joy of eternal life with his heavenly father Wednesday afternoon, March 28, 2018. Scottie was born to Mr. and Mrs. HP Scott at Sheepshead Bay in the city of Brooklyn New York. As the oldest of eight, along with his five brothers and two sisters, Scottie was raised Catholic and attended St. Mark’s Catholic School in Brooklyn, New York. At 17, he joined the Navy and later on also served in the Korean war. After he finished serving, he moved to San Diego, California where he worked as a welder for many years until retirement 15 years ago. It was here that he also met and married his special angel, Virginia Munoz Scott. The two were together for 60 years and together, raised 7 children. Scottie will be remembered and cherished as an amazing, kind, humble, strong, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family, community, and friends but with all that being said, we know deep down that he will always be with his special angel and those that he loved. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Munoz Scott, his six living children – one deceased, and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he all loved dearly.
