Hilda Viola Flores

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Viola (Contreras) Flores, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Hilda was born in San Diego, California on May 23, 1939, to Rudy and Mary Contreras. She was a proud sister to Beatrice (Mike) Mojeck and Rose (Richard) Herrera.

Hilda's legacy is carried on by her four children: Doreen, Julee, Rudy, and Ruby, along with her six grandchildren: Joseph (Kim) Flores, Ricky Cook, Samantha (Junior) Lopez, Joseph (Rebecca) Bernardo, Jonathan (Alexandra) Bernardo, Patrick (Jessi) Smith, and her twelve great-grandchildren: Anthony, Jaely, Ezekiel, Elijah, Josiah, Malakai, Joseph David, Ezra, Jemma, Stella, Araya, and Layla.

Hilda was known for her infectious spirit, creativity, and generosity. She was always the life of the party, and her love for dancing brought joy to every gathering. Her passion for celebrating holidays knew no bounds, especially Christmas, when her home would be transformed into a festive wonderland—her decorations could rival the finest stores. She was a master of making everything feel special, and her knack for organizing and throwing memorable parties left a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to attend.

Her love of cooking was equally renowned. Whether she was preparing a family meal or a holiday feast, everything she made was imbued with love and care. A true hustler, Hilda always worked hard to provide for her family, and no matter how tough times were, she ensured they never went without. Her adventurous nature led her on many spontaneous journeys, often taking her family on camping trips and drives to explore new places.

Above all, Hilda was a woman of boundless energy and warmth. She had the greatest friends, and her home was always filled with laughter and love. She was a woman who lived life fully, with a generous heart and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Hilda will be dearly missed but never forgotten, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
