

Irene Irma Wilton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 92. Born on April 5, 1933, in Texas to Manuel and Olga Bringas, Irene moved to San Diego, California, at just three months old, where she spent the rest of her life.
Irene was married to the love of her life, John Wilton Sr., for 52 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure, frequently traveling and dancing together—making memories that their family will cherish forever. Irene was the heart of her family, raising her two children with grace and dedication.
Irene worked for Jean Nicole Clothing Store for 40 years, ultimately becoming a manager. She worked evenings, ensuring she could be there for her children during the day. Outside of her career, Irene was passionate about hosting family gatherings, shopping, and spending quality time with her lifelong friends.
She is survived by her grandchildren Kenny Boyer, Shannon Wilton, Taylor Wilton, Hannah Wilton, 8 great grandchildren, her son-in-law Ken Boyer and daughter-in-law Angel Wilton.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Wilton Sr., her son John Wilton, her daughter Christine Boyer, her parents, and her brother Manuel Bringas and sister Norma Crosby. Irene leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family, who will continue to honor her memory.
Her services will be at Goodbody mortuary in San Diego on May 30th at 1 PM
A celebration of life for Irene will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115.
