Fr. Noel Thompson, was my godfather, I remember him arriving at Kilmaglish house, when I was young, to visit all the family, he would chase after me, and throw me up in the air, for fun, he was a fun loving man. May he rest in peace, from,, James, his godson, wife, sharron, and children, James and Tina. God Bless.

Condolences to you all for your loss of Fr. Noel. Eamonn ( my dad ) and I had a very memorable visit with him in San Diego a number of years ago. After twenty minutes of the two ole boys sizing each other up the guards came down and memory lane was well trodden. A real gentleman and a great character. Best wishes,
Oliver Donnelly , Limerick .

My Uncle Father Noel Thompson, caused great excitment anytime he came to Ireland. My Mother Teresa Mc Donnell nee Thompson loved to see her younger brother ,she often spoke about his school days in St.Mels in county Longford and how he loved everybody and his birthplace in Creenagh Co.Longford. He was one of the finest of men and of course he would have gone down well in Hollywood. But then God chooses the best. So May God rest him and we know there will be a great party in heaven as he is the last of the family to arrive home. Lots of Love his niece Frances and his Granniece Teresa

It was with great sadness I learned of Noel’s death today. He was such celebrity each time he visited his brother Matt and his family in Ireland, usually in the company of his uncle Monsignor Matt Thompson and his sister Mary Lizzy. As a teenager in the 70’s I have fond memories of receiving letters cards and gifs from his bases all over the world when he served with the US Airforce. May he rest in peace. Will remember you always Noel .

I only ever got to meet Noel a handful of times, but when i did it was his sense of humour that stood out the most. The perfect approach to lifes twists and turns I thought.

To us he was Uncle Noel. He is the last of my Fathers siblings and so particularly poignant.
I will always remember when he came home and the great excitement we felt as children.

RIP Noel.
