James was born and raised in San Diego. He graduated from San Diego High School where he met his wife Rose. They were married for 78 years. He was employed by San Diego Gas and Electric for his entire career, from September 16, 1935 and retiring on May 1, 1980 as an Operations District Manager.
James participated in many sports throughout his life including basketball, handball and bowling. He was also a life-long golf enthusiast. He is survived by his children: James of Jerome, ID; Susan of El Cajon, CA; and Donna of Manhattan Beach, CA; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Blessed are those who died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.
