James Vincent Torcellini
March 16, 1921 – June 7, 2021
James Vincent Torcellini, WWII Veteran (Army) who recently turned 100 in March of 2021, left this earth peacefully with family at his side, on Monday, June 7. Jim was born in New Haven, Connecticut on March 16, 1921, and moved to Mission Hills, San Diego in 1953. Jim worked in the aerospace industry for 18 years. During those years he was employed at Convair, General Dynamics and Rohr as an engineering tool designer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Santa (Mussomeli) Torcellini, and together they had 5 children, John, Peter, Stephen, Theresa Hartwell, and Jamie. And he is survived by his wife, Mae Ann Ludwig Torcellini and her children Terri, Michael, David, Jimmy, Lori and Patty. Jim also had the privilege of a large family with 9 adoring grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and even 5 great great grandchildren. He was a humble man of few words but very competitive and hard to beat on the bocci court. He was good, kind and a deeply religious man, and was incredibly proud of his service to our country, as he often recalled stories of WWII tour of duty in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division. We take comfort in knowing that he lived a long and love filled life. His faith in God brought him peace. And he never said goodbye to his family members without saying he loved them. We all love you too, Dad.
