Janet Ethel Anderson Hardy was born in Ogden, Utah January 22, 1933. She is the daughter of Carl and Ethel Anderson. In 1934 the family moved to Glendive, Montana where Janet graduated from Dawson County High School in 1951.
Janet attended Brigham Young University where she majored in Elementary Education with an English Minor, she graduated in 1955. Upon graduation Janet taught elementary education in Billings, Montana and then moved to San Diego in 1956 where she continued to teach and where she met her future husband, Richard Hardy.
Richard was a BYU graduate from Las Vegas and was currently working as an appraiser. In 1959 Janet and Richard eloped. Janet and Richard moved to Pacific Beach and later La Jolla when Richard started working for Mansfield Mills.
They raised a family of two sons and two daughters. Her service over the years in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was as a teacher in Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, Seminary, President of Relief Society, President of Primary, Cub Scouts and Membership.
In 1980 Janet became a loan officer and worked full-time in the business for thirty years. She and her husband owned their own mortgage company, Choice Mortgage. In 1988 they would move to Rancho Bernardo, Richard and Janet served together as temple workers for over 3 years before he passed way in 1996. After Richard died, Janet continued to work for other mortgage companies and then moved to Lake Almanor, CA in 1996.
Janet has had a lifetime passion for Family History, Genealogy, and keeping her own personal records and personal history in a Blog that has brought her much joy over the years. From 2001-2011 Janet worked for the Small Business Administration for 4-6 months a year as a loan officer. This employment would take her to Texas, Maryland, West Virginia, Sacramento, Guam, New York, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
Janet fully retired in 2011 and spent most of her time in her mountain home but would often spend the winters in San Diego with her children. She also had the pleasure of traveling to Victoria, Sweden, London, Scandinavia, Mediterranean Cruise, Disney World, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Janet is survived by her two daughters, Linda Pulsipher of Carlsbad, CA and Maria Rasimas of La Jolla, CA and one son, James Hardy of San Clemente, CA, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved dog, Sadie. Previously deceased besides her husband was her oldest son, John Hardy in 2004, both of them died of cardiac arrest, and her other beloved dog, Bandido.
