Jerry M. Fontanilla, of Leander, Texas, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on June 15, 1965, in Olongapo City, Philippines, Jerry grew up surrounded by family, good food, and the everyday adventures that shaped his curious and hands on nature.
Jerry lived with a gentle steadiness and a genuine warmth that made people feel comfortable around him. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, son in law, and friend — someone who showed his care through simple, thoughtful actions. Whether he was cooking a meal, fixing something around the house, or heading out for a bike ride, he brought a quiet joy to the people in his life. He was a dog lover at heart, and his loyal companion, Milo, preceded him in death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Adoracion Fontanilla, and is survived by his wife, Gretel, and his seven siblings — Ester, June, Fely, Ando, Mely, Dolly, and Juvy — along with many nephews and nieces who held him dearly.
Jerry’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of CVS Kidney Care Home Dialysis Satellite WellBound, Austin Kidney Associates, Texas Oncology and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed him in his final days.
He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, generosity, and the simple joys he shared with those around him. His presence enriched the lives of his family and friends, and his memory will continue to guide and comfort them in the years ahead.
