Mrs. Letwin was my english teacher from 2013-2014 at Montgomery Middle School. I always think about her and how she really cared about her students. I wish I could've had her as my teacher for all of middle school and was very grateful to meet her when I did. I'm starting my first semester of college and think of her often. I hope Mrs. Letwin's family are all okay and know that she was loved by many and left an impact on all. Thank you Mrs. Letwin.

Joan and I taught together at Alexander Mitchell School in Milwaukee.  The last year and a half she was in Milwaukee we were SAGE partners teaching first grade.  Joan was always upbeat and put the students first.  She was a joy to work with.  I will cherish her friendship and memory always.

Mrs.Letwin was the nicest and most compassionate teacher I've ever known. She taught us what strength meant. She taught us to overcome obstacles to succeed in what we love most.

The flame on this candle makes me think of Joan ... ever shining and so bright! Room 255 at Montgomery Middle will always belong to her and her absence will be felt everyday. Joan was a very special woman ... PEACE TO YOU FOREVER!

Joan will forever be in my heart. I was her co-teacher for a year and we had sooo much fun in her classroom. This made us closer and we became friends. I will miss her laughter, her infectious smile, and her absolute love of history. She will be sorely missed.

Joan was so much more than a co-worker.  My daughter was in her first class at Montgomery.  We traveled together to Washington DC, taking many eager 8th grade students on what was an adventure of a lifetime.  She was a friend and confidant.  I will miss her so much!  I will miss hearing her whistling or singing in the hallway as she passed by my room.  She was truly a beautiful soul!

Joan was a kind spirit.  I met her when I first began my teaching career.  I will miss her happiness most of all.  She always had the most upbeat outlook on things, even in difficult times.  I will miss hearing her good morning greeting as she walked by my room.  I will miss her strong hugs...she was a good huger :)  She was beautiful and strong until the very end!
